Jonathan L. Brown

Jonathan L. Brown is an attorney, engineer, and surveyor from Hebron, KY.

Prior to running for the Boone County PVA office, Jonathan operated both a private law practice and engineering consulting business. Prior to that Jonathan worked for over a decade for Viox & Viox Engineering where he designed and managed a wide variety of land development projects.

Jonathan graduated from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law with honors and the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s in civil engineering. He also has received a certificate in Land Surveying from Cincinnati State. Jonathan is a licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and holds engineering and surveying licenses in both the Commonwealth of Kentucky and State of Ohio.

Jonathan has been active in professional and community organizations. He is a member of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association and the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers. He has also served on the Church Council of Hebron Lutheran Church, including a term as the president of the congregation. Jonathan is also a graduate of both Leadership Kentucky and Leadership Northern Kentucky.

Jonathan took office as Boone County PVA in December of 2022. Jonathan plans to continue the office’s use of new technology to streamline the assessment process so he may better serve the citizens of Boone County. He also intends to use his years of experience in property law, mapping and site development to make Boone County a leader in Kentucky’s continuing effort to reform its tax system to be fairer to citizens and friendlier to business.

Most importantly, Jonathan wants his office to be focused on serving the citizens of Boone County and providing transparency in the assessment process.
