Our office building is located 2950 Washington St; Burlington, KY 41005. We are an unclassified office of state government, meaning that we are not merit system employees. We are currently staffed with thirteen employees. We have a 37.5 hour work schedule with flex hours available Monday thru Friday. Part-Time Front Staff Assistant

The Boone County PVA Office is looking for an eager and efficient Customer Service Representative / Front Desk Clerk to fill a part-time position. Job Duties will primarily consist of customer service – answering questions in person and via telephone regarding motor vehicle taxes, assessments, property tax questions, general assessment questions, q&a, etc.

Other duties are primarily secretarial and include performing routine clerical and administrative functions such as scanning & indexing documents, drafting correspondence, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, mail-room type duties, etc.


  • Resolves problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal courteously and effectively with the general public and office staff at all levels.
  • Friendly, professional & pleasant demeanor.
  • Ability to multi-task and follow-up.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed..
  • Basic computer proficiency and knowledge with Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.

Interviews are conducted when specific positions are being filled. Applications will remain on file in this office for six months. We do not have access to applications that are submitted to other agencies or through the Personnel Cabinet. Also, other agencies will not have access to applications submitted to our office. We use the Commonwealth of Kentucky Application; however, please address all inquiries to this office, not the Personnel Cabinet. Sections 18 and 19 are not applicable to employment in this office. Proof of education/certification is required within 90 days of employment.

Electronic Signatures

Those who falsify an application are subject to dismissal from employment and other sanctions including ineligibility for employment, jail time and fines. KRS 18A.110(7)(C) authorizes the Secretary of the Personnel Cabinet to investigate an individual’s education, experience, capacity, knowledge, skills, character, personal traits, or physical fitness to determine an applicant’s fitness for employment.
